Mozilla Prism: A Competitor for Adobe AIR?

Prism's "experiments" can be a bridge between Web and Desktop applications

Mozilla Labs announces "a series of experiments to bridge the divide in the user experience between web applications and desktop apps and to explore new usability models as the line between traditional desktop and new web applications continues to blur".

This product is called Prism, and it sounds very interesting. You may even think that  it's going to compete with Adobe AIR in the future.  But since Prism is going to work with one specific browser (Firefox),  its penetration will be limited.

On the other hand, Adobe Air moves away from the Web browsers, which has its pros and cons.

In any case,  Mozilla Prism is yet another attempt to follow the same trend - blurring the line between Web and desktop applications.
